Unsure

This road of life I stand, lost and aimless

Like a stranded boat afloat midstream…

I stare, I wonder…and look for a way

The path’s shrouded like a mysterious dream.

And through this dense did I tread…

Brushed by leaves green and gray

Scraped in stints by thorny hedge…

The journey was darn tiring I say.

Yet I lingered like mist over water.

Memories of yesteryears streaming past…

Like the reels of a romantic movie…

Shades of emotions zooming fast.

A stick in hand, I but made my way…

Towards the gray, unsure yet firm…

Hoping destiny to come to my aid.

Havoc

A sly pandemic out there,
A ravenous cyclone looms here,
An evil lightning blazes past,
Is the end of existence near?

Doors and windows though locked,
Like barbarians, rain waters charge in.
Drowning lives in deep uncertainty.
Life has gone on a turbulent spin.

Hapless souls with moist eyes,
Sit and watch the havoc around.
A silent prayer somewhere escapes.
Asking for a quick rebound.

Meandering

There goes the road… winding downhill…
Dusty…’tis a path that’s neverending…
Into the horizon… into the mist.. it melted
Like a mindless wanderer, meandering…

Aligning to the night stars bright…
Into the vastness it traversed..silently
Uncared, yet so pivotal to wordly existence…
It slithered past the eyes… stealthily

Into the gray it went peacefully…
Turning at the umpteen bends…cautious
As if a new thrill seems to await…
Alas there’s none… life’s so monotonous…

Distant lands beckon with eager…
Drifting… it strays towards colorful dreams…
Appalled…it stops, aghast at phony feelings…
Retraces… it heads toward unpretented realms…

Etching past thorny bushes… unhurt
Into the haunted wilderness it wanders…
Aspiring for a destiny… still undefined…
Like a nomad into the oblivion… it meanders.

Sorrow

Sweet memories of bygone days,
Sailed like passing clouds,
Leaving behind a trail of gloom
And a parched earth thirsty for joy.

I stared with sunken eyes,
Moist with my rotten grief,
As the clouds sailed away,
To pour over other’s lands.

“Why not pour over my land?” I wailed.
My eyes devoid of hope and dreams,
As I stood lost in the dark woods,
Waiting for the light to lead me through.

“Nay”, they chuckled in harmony
“We found better lands to explore,
Where silver springs flowed from mountains,
And sweet fragrance wafted in the winds.”

I turned with a sense of hopelessness,
And walked on the rusty road,
Engulfed in my tragic tale,
And faded into the misty lair.
